Culture in Development

We work hard for more understanding of culture in society. Cultural Heritage, the material form of culture, plays an important role in our search for who we were yesterday, who we are today and who we will be tomorrow. It is for those reasons that we should do our utmost to protect our cultural heritage.

Culture in Development

Culture is always changing. The rate of change depends on time and place. Today, western culture seems to move with the speed of light. Sometimes we think of culture as a static concept, something we do not want to give up. In those cases it can become a source of conflict. Only through dialogue we can try to understand the culture of  'others' and hope for a peaceful future.

Culture in Development

The importance of culture in the development of society is an established fact. However, it has not been long since International Organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations recognize the importance of culture to fight poverty in developing countries. Nowadays, most national development programs include cultural programs. Programs that stimulate freedom of speech and free thought. Through culture and heritage we are able to meet ‘the other’.
