UNESCO officials are to visit Sevilla to determine whether a controversial skyscraper will visually impair the town’s historic centre.
The body has already threatened to withdraw the city’s ‘world heritage’ status if it continues to allow the 178m Pelli Tower to be built.
The 41-storey building, currently a third of the way through completion, is to house the offices of Cajasol bank.
The final report will be analysed at the World Heritage Committee next summer.
