Nhimbe is proud to announce that the research project on cultural governance in Zimbabwe, conducted under the NPAAC programme was successfully completed in May 2012. The research reports have been edited and compiled into one compendium which is in the final stage of designing before it can be printed and distributed. The project focused on the seven areas of policy and legislation which currently impact on the arts and culture sector.
The areas are:
• Arts Council Festival Guidelines and their application
• Arts Council Act and its application
• National Gallery Act and its application
• Censorship Act and its application
• 75% local content on radio and television policy and its application
• Cultural governance structure and the case for a Ministry of Arts and Culture
• Lack of government and civil society interface in reviewing the Progress
Report in the implementation of UNESCO Conventions in the field of culture.
