A new cultural policy agenda for development and mutual understanding Key arguments for a strong commitment to cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue.

This document builds upon the Expert Meeting ‘Towards a New Cultural Policy Framework – Conceptual and Operational Guidelines to Integrate Cultural Diversity and Intercultural Dialogue Principles’ (see Annex II for list of documents and authors) and has largely benefitted from recent texts written by Professor Arjun Appadurai.

It was conceived and edited by Katérina Stenou, former Director of the UNESCO Division for Cultural Policies and Intercultural Dialogue (until April 2011) with the significant contribution of her colleague, Susanne Schnuttgen. The contributions of all involved are gratefully acknowledged. Read the document at http://unesdoc.unesco.org/images/0021/002147/214747e.pdf
